Meaford resident helping raise awareness of the dangers of skin cancer

I am a dauntless mother of fabulous identical twin daughters who are now building their careers in the big city. At 37 years old (in 2014) when the girls were just turning 12, I was diagnosed with cancer: Stage IIIb nodular melanoma AND at the same time, stage III papillary thyroid cancer, both of which are "in remission" (no evidence of disease) at this time. I have had multiple surgeries and intense medical treatments, and I remain under annual CT scan "surveillance."

During the most ill and fearful time of my cancer journey, sharing my saga online helped me cope with the roller coaster ride in a brutally honest and often comical way. You can search back in the archives to learn more about our experiences, all of which are still relevant and stay with me every day. I hope that sharing my journey will help others as well!
